US-experts discuss the newest trends and innovations of IFA 2008

IFA 2008 welcomes experts from all over the world who introduce and discuss the newest innovations in technology and product design. On 29 and 30 August the American point of view is presented by seven top US journalists – amongst them the blogging star Robert Scoble, the New York Times columnist Larry Magid and US Today’s Ed Baid. During three special IFA discussions they will take a look at the latest trends in consumer electronics and home appliance.

The panels will be in English.

“Agents of change?”

Is Europe’s lead in home energy control, and in white goods that use energy wisely, going to change the priorities of US consumers – creating new markets for appliance makers and consumer-electronics companies? Will the world play to Apple’s iTune in product design, iPhones and consumer electronics? Will Zigbee connect washing machines to our home networks?

Seven top US journalists think ahead.

“Blogging in Germany and America: What German Bloggers could learn from their US-Colleagues – if they want to.”

U.S. journalists break new ground with blogs and podcasts – and “Mainstream media” is melting down, or evolving to survive. In Germany, however, blogging is not as common. Only one out of five Germans reads a blog, compared to one out of three in the U.S. Top U.S. and German journalists focus on blogging success – and the future, if any, for mainstream media.
