LOS ANGELES, June 1 /PRNewswire/ — Fandango, the nation’s leading
moviegoer destination, announced today that it sold more than 16% of all
tickets for Sex and the City, which enjoyed a projected domestic weekend
box office of more than $55 million*.

Sex and the City is a landmark film for Fandango, as it represents:

— Fandango’s largest percentage of tickets sold for a feature film’s
opening weekend since the company’s founding in 2000. (By comparison,
Fandango sold nearly 12% of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and
10.5 % of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith domestic opening
weekends, both in 2005.)
— One million tickets sold on Fandango through opening weekend.
— The top-selling romantic comedy in company history.
— One of the company’s fastest ticket-sellers, selling nearly 10 tickets
per second, during extended peak hours.
— One of Fandango’s top 10 advance ticket-sellers, with more than 1,000
weekend shows sold out in advance.

“Internet ticket sales for Sex and the City have been nothing short of
extraordinary for a female-driven picture,” says Rick Butler, Chief
Operating Officer for Fandango. “Loyal fans of the television series have
been waiting years for a chance to spend more time with their on-screen
friends, and we saw unusually strong advance interest for this film several
weeks out. It clearly struck a chord with moviegoers who were hungry for a
different kind of summer movie fare.”

As part of Fandango’s online survey of more than 10,000 Sex and the
City moviegoers, 71% of respondents claim Hollywood does not create enough
movies that speak to the adult female audience. In the meantime, Sex and
the City continues to perform well with ticket sales on Fandango,
accounting for more than 90 % of tickets, as of Sunday morning.
