QUOTES:

Quote, attributable to Howard Morgan, Partner, First Round Capital

— “New York is again a great source of startups in technology and
digital media. We continue to see fundable teams and ideas which are
as easily nurtured in New York as in Silicon Valley, and they’re
closer to our homes.”

Quotes, attributable to David S. Rose, Chairman of New York Angels

— “While it’s well known that New York is the media capital of the world,
fewer people know that New York has more employees in technology than
any other region in the country, and fewer still realize that New York
is second only to Silicon Valley in the number of venture capital firms
and technology angel investment groups funding the new Internet
economy.”
— “Finding investors for an exciting new tech startup is often seen as a
mysterious, secretive game of ‘who do you know’. At this event, hosted
by VCs and angels ourselves, we will clearly explain the process,
provide tips on how to connect with the right funding source, and be
round all evening to answer questions from entrepreneurs and exchange
business cards with startups looking for investment.”
