What’s the Deal With the Electric Car?

SUDBURY, Mass., May 26 /PRNewswire/ — If you keep up with the news,
you have likely seen more and more stories on electric vehicles or “EVs,”
perhaps with unfamiliar jargon such as “fuel-cells,” “BEVs,” and “ZEVs.”
What does it all mean for the consumer? Bo Bennett, an Internet
entrepreneur and author of the book “Year To Success,” has begun what he
refers to as a “mission to inform the American public on the benefits of
the emerging technology of electric cars in a non-technical and
entertaining way.” Bennett, along with co-host and fellow enthusiast Ryan
Levesque, provides this information in a free podcast called “The EVcast”
found in iTunes and at http://www.evcast.com.

About six months ago, Bennett started looking into buying a new car.
“It became crystal clear to me that electric cars are the future, and it is
time that America embraces them,” says Bennett. Bennett does not consider
himself political, an environmentalist, nor an advocate of the “green
movement.” “I have always been able to see both sides of virtually any
issue, making me a lousy advocate of anything. Although I am definitely
pro-EVs, I don’t hesitate to point out their shortcomings,” says Bennett.
“The EVcast is an informative show that will demonstrate different
viewpoints and opinions when it comes to the practicality of electric cars.
Our ultimate goal is to spread the adoption of the electric vehicle, but at
the same time help consumers make smart decisions when comes to buying a
pure EV, hybrid, or even sticking with a gas powered vehicle for now.”

Bennett concludes the interview by saying, “The media has become
saturated with hype and false promises from overzealous EV advocates,” says
Bennett. “Likewise, there are many groups spreading misinformation in hopes
that the EV will fail. Ryan and I like to consider ourselves sharp knives
that cut through the crap, figuratively speaking of course.”

The EVcast debuts on Tuesday, May 27 at 1:00pm Eastern. Members of
evcast.com can listen in to the live broadcasts while leaving real-time
feedback via the live chat. Listeners can also download and/or stream any
of the previous shows at http://www.evcast.com or subscribe to the feed via
iTunes.
