Search Gainers:
Katie Holmes (#1) achieves her highest rank ever, taking over the
number one spot atop The Lycos 50 this week, due in part to hype driven by
husband Tom Cruise’s recent appearance on “Oprah,” and rumors Holmes will
soon be making her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s post-World War II
family drama “All My Sons.” Despite his tabloid grabbing headlines, Cruise
barely registers a blip on the radar with web users compared to his wife
Katie Holmes, who generates 116 percent more search activity than hubbie
Tom. In other entertainment news, online interest in actor Ryan Reynolds
jumps 473 percent this week on reports Reynolds leaked a text message to
friends telling them he proposed to girlfriend actress Scarlett Johansson.
Meanwhile, search interest jumps four-fold for actress Jessica Alba
following recent quotes from Alba in Allure Magazine saying her pregnancy
with fiance Cash Warren was a result of not practicing safe sex. And
keeping with the baby theme, search interest in the Duggar Family pops 315
percent after Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar announced to the media they are
expecting their 18th child.
