TORRANCE, Calif., April 16 /PRNewswire/ — While professional race car
drivers display their skills on the famed Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
(TGPLB) street circuit, spectators can test their high-speed driving
talents without even wearing a helmet. Lexus will offer race fans attending
this year’s TGPLB (April 17-20) the opportunity to get behind the wheel of
the all-new Lexus IS F high-performance sport sedan while experiencing
Sony’s Gran Turismo(TM) 5 Prologue. Released on April 15, Gran Turismo(TM)
5 Prologue is Sony Computer Entertainment America’s newest driving
simulator for PLAYSTATION(R)3 (PS3(TM)).

The Lexus display, located in the Lifestyle Expo, will feature six
Virtual GT racing simulators running Gran Turismo(TM) 5 Prologue on PS3
systems. Visitors to the booth can climb into one of these advanced
simulators and race a virtual IS F on the famous Fuji Speedway, one of six
tracks available in the game.

Fuji Speedway is the IS F’s home track where it was extensively tested
and tuned. Racers can enter Fuji Speedway’s 0.92-mile straight and
experience the ultra-quick shifts of the IS F’s 8-speed Sport Direct-Shift
transmission and its 416 horsepower, 5.0-liter V8, which launches the car
from 0-to-60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. After reaching IS F’s 170 mph top
track speed, racers can utilize the gripping force of the Lexus-designed
high-performance Brembo(R) brakes while braking hard into turn one.

Gran Turismo(TM) 5 Prologue features a new physics engine that delivers
next-generation vehicle-specific handling that highlights the IS F’s
high-performance suspension throughout Fuji Speedway’s 16 technical turns.
The stunning visuals provided by the PS3 system’s high-definition graphics
will bring driving enthusiasts closer to the reality of driving the IS F
than ever before.
